Notice - New Application Software
Barrow County now utilizes Tyler Energov for their new Citizen Self Service Portal software for Planning & Community Development applications, which allows citizens to submit applications online and keep track of their approval process.
**Alcohol License applications must be applied for in person.**

Renewal Information
Need to renew? Follow the below steps:
- You can begin the renewal process and track its progress on the self service portal, click here.
- If you are not already logged into the portal, click the Login or Register link in the upper right and provide your username and password.
- Go to either Dashboard or My Work tab when logged in.
- Go to the My Licenses section, your license will display a Renew button.
- Click Renew and submit your renewal application and all applicable documentation.
Expiration Dates and Fee Evaluations
Occupational Tax Certificates (Business Licenses) will expire on December 31. A late fee of 10% will be applied to all business license renewals after Jan. 15.
- After April 15, a late fee of $200.00 will be applied to business license renewals.
Alcohol Licenses renewals are due by November 15. Penalties for late renewals will be charged as follows:
- November 16 to November 30 …………………….$50.00
- December 01 to December 15 …………………….$100.00
- After December 15: Ten percent of annual license fee, but not less than $100.00
- If an alcoholic beverage license renewal application and license fee has not been filed with the Barrow County Planning and Community Development Department by January 15, the license shall be declared to be abandoned and any re-licensing shall require a new application.
Business License Information
It is the responsibility of the business owner to ensure all commercial businesses are in compliance with Environmental Health regulations, along with approval from the Barrow County Fire Marshal's Office - before a license can be approved for commercial businesses and person care homes.
All home office applicants for a new business license must read and sign the Barrow County Home Office Requirement Form.
