The Barrow County Fire Department is committed to providing life-saving services to the citizens of Barrow County. Our highly trained firefighters and emergency medical personnel are equipped to serve in multiple capacities, seamlessly integrating their roles to ensure effective response during any emergency.

We take an All-Hazards Approach to emergency services—meaning our department is prepared to respond to a full spectrum of emergencies, including fires, medical incidents, hazardous materials situations, natural disasters, and complex rescue operations. This approach ensures our personnel are trained, equipped, and ready to handle any situation that threatens the safety of our community.

Operating out of six strategically located fire stations, we house a diverse array of equipment, including Fire and Rescue Apparatus, Command and Support Units, and State-Licensed Medical Response Units (Ambulances). These EMS services are provided through a Public-Private Partnership, where Barrow County contracts with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group to deliver high-quality emergency medical services to our community.

In addition to our first-responder capabilities, we collaborate closely with the Barrow County Emergency Management Agency to prepare for, respond to, and recover from both natural and man-made disasters, further strengthening our All-Hazards readiness.
