Barrow County E911 Director William Wright will retire effective May 5, concluding his tenure of dedicated service to the county’s emergency response operations.
“William’s leadership and commitment to public safety have made a profound impact on Barrow County,” said Srikanth Yamala, Barrow County Manager. “His steady guidance and dedication to emergency response have saved countless lives, including during the tragic events at Apalachee High School on September 4, 2024. We are deeply grateful for his service and wish him the best in his well-earned retirement.”
Wright began his public safety career in 1987 and served 14 years with Barrow County.
As Wright transitions into retirement, Assistant E911 Director Jeremy Pickett will take over day-to-day operations of the department while a search begins for a permanent replacement.
