Freeman Brock Road to close for paving

News Posted on July 19, 2024

As part of a full depth reclamation project, Freeman Brock Road will be limited to local traffic only beginning Monday, July 22, weather permitting.

“A full depth reclamation is more than your standard patching and paving,” said Chris Yancey, Barrow County Public Works Director. “This process involves grinding up the old road, creating a new bed and paving a new road on top.”

Freeman Brock Road will be closed to through-traffic for approximately five days, weather permitting. Drivers who typically use Freeman Brock Road as a connector between County Line Auburn Road and Dee Kennedy Road can use the intersection of County Line Auburn and Dee Kennedy a short drive away.

“This project is a priority, not only for motorists who traverse the area, but for parents and children who will now have a safer route to nearby Bramlett Elementary School for the new school year,” Yancey said.

As always, drivers should exercise caution in and around construction zones.
