Barrow County’s administrative offices, courts, senior center and animal shelter will be closed Monday, October 13 for Columbus Day.
Buildings and athletic fields will be closed at Victor Lord Park on Oct. 13, though the park itself will remain open during the holiday. Batting cages, tennis and pickleball courts will be available.
Early voting for the municipal and Public Service Commissioner elections will not begin until Tuesday, Oct. 14 due to the holiday.
The Barrow County Water office will be closed, but essential staff will remain on duty. Citizens reporting a residential water emergency may do so by calling (770) 307-6610 to be connected with appropriate on-call staff. A wastewater emergency may be reported to (770) 298-9527. All other calls may go to the office line at (770) 307-3014.
Essential public safety personnel will also remain on duty during the holiday.
