News Posted on July 25, 2025

Two leadership roles with Barrow County Government have been filled as the county continues to invest in providing high-quality essential services in a fiscally responsible manner, while promoting economic development opportunities.

Bill Nash, a registered professional engineer with more than 25 years of experience in delivering high-impact infrastructure projects, has been hired as Deputy County Manager.

“I was impressed by his skill set, ability to navigate complex projects, and commitment to customer service,” said Srikanth Yamala, Barrow County Manager. “Bill’s prior work in the public and private sectors makes him a great fit to manage departments handling generational infrastructure projects for our organization.”

Nash currently serves as Director of Public Works and Utilities for Hall County. Prior to that he was a business owner and managed his own civil engineering firm for more than a decade. Nash holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He will begin his role August 25.

Brett Skinner, who has been serving as the interim Fire Chief for Barrow County since June, has now been named to the position full time, effective July 26.

“I am excited to have Chief Skinner lead the fine men and women of the Barrow County Fire Department,” said Yamala. “Over the years, he successfully demonstrated the skills necessary to build on the high standards of professionalism and service to our community and business partners.”

Skinner previously served as Deputy Fire Chief for Barrow County, and has more than 20 years of experience in emergency services and fire rescue. He is a Georgia Certified Fire Chief and a Georgia Advanced Certified Emergency Manager.
