At a ceremony Friday, March 7, Barrow County named Mary “Susie” Allen, more commonly known as “Ms. Susie” to fellow employees, as Barrow County Employee of the Year.
“There is truly nobody more deserving of this award than Ms. Susie, who truly brightens the day of anyone she meets,” said Srikanth Yamala, Barrow County Manager. “She truly embodies the ABCs of Barrow County Government – showing up with the right Attitude, expertly handling the Basics of her job, and treating Customers with kindness and respect.”
Allen, a building service worker, began working for Barrow County in November 2020. She said she was shocked to hear her name announced.
“I am truly blessed to work for such a great organization, and I am extraordinarily humbled to receive this recognition. The people of Barrow County truly are a family to me, and I am so grateful to be part of it,” said Allen.
Allen received her award at the Employee Appreciation Luncheon, held at the Barrow County Parks and Recreation Building at Victor Lord Park.
