Barrow County’s administrative offices, courts, senior center, and animal shelter will adjust schedules for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Administrative offices, courts and the animal shelter will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1 in observance of the holidays. The animal shelter will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 23 and New Year’s Eve. (Administrative offices and courts will operate normal business hours.)
The Barrow County Senior Center will be closed Dec. 23-27 and Jan. 1.
Buildings and athletic fields will be closed at Victor Lord Park Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1, though the park itself will remain open. Batting cages, tennis and pickleball courts will be available.
The Barrow County Water office will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1, but essential staff will remain on duty. Citizens reporting a residential water emergency may do so by calling (770) 307-6610 to be connected with appropriate on-call staff. A wastewater emergency may be reported to (770) 298-9527. All other calls may go to the office line at (770) 307-3014.
Essential public safety personnel will also remain on duty during the holiday.
