The Barrow County Utilities Division, which includes water and sewer services, is proud to unveil its new billing software, which offers a more customer-friendly, streamlined way to pay utility bills from the comfort of your home or office.
Citizens who wish to pay bills in person, by mail or by phone may still do so; these methods remain unchanged. Utility bills were mailed Nov. 8, and due to the brief delay caused by the software transition, all late fees will be waived for this billing cycle. Bills may be viewed online as well.
“The new billing software will only enhance our efforts to simplify the billing and payment process. Our staff is ready and willing to assist anyone who needs additional assistance using the new software. They can call us during normal business hours at (770) 307-3014 to speak with our staff,” said Chris Yancey, Barrow County Public Works Director.
Citizens who do not wish to use the online payment portal may still use any of the following methods of payment for their utility billing.
- In Person: Payments can be made at the Barrow County Water and Sewerage Department, located at 625 Highway 211 NE, Winder, GA 30680. Payments may be made by cash, check, money order and Visa or MasterCard credit or debit cards. (Please note that a 3.95% processing fee is applied to card payments.)
- Mail: Check and money order payments may be mailed to 625 Highway 211 NE, Winder, GA 3068. A drop box is located in front of the building as well.
- Phone: Customers may call (770) 307-3014 to make payments over the phone by credit or debit card during normal business hours. (Please note that a 3.95% processing fee is applied to card payments and an additional $1.50 service fee when using the 24-hour automated payment system.)
- Automated Bank Draft: Citizens may provide relevant banking information to authorize an automatic draft at the due date of each billing cycle. This can be completed on the back of the payment coupon and returned with payment.
