Barrow County property assessment notices to be mailed May 1

News Posted on April 30, 2024

The Barrow County Tax Assessors office will mail property assessment notices Wednesday, May 1 to all owners of real property, including land and any improvements. Personal property notices such as aircraft, boats and business equipment and inventory will also be mailed on May 1.

This notice is not a tax bill; it is an estimate of taxes based on the assessed value of the home. Should a homeowner disagree with the assessment, there is a 45-day window to appeal. Final tax bills will not be mailed until September and will not be due until November.

“The Barrow County Tax Assessors Office is happy to answer any questions a homeowner may have about their assessment notice or the appeal process. Simply call our office during normal business hours, weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to get started,” said Guy Rogers, Chief Appraiser.

Citizens may print the current and prior year assessment notices from qPublic under the “assessment” section.

Appeals may be filed online through qPublic, by mail, or in-person at the Barrow County Tax Assessors Office, located at 30 N. Broad Street, Winder, GA 30680.
