GIS provides both hardcopy and digital mapping products to county departments as well as the general public. GIS creates various custom mapping products. We also provide precise street numbering database management for county needs. Maintaining several databases enables us to create diverse reports for internal and public use. With GIS assigning all structure addresses and approving all street and subdivision names, we are able to provide excellent customer service support with address verification. The department also provides an informative E-911 form for current and new structure description and medical information that could be imperative for emergency response units. This information is provided to our Central Communications Department.
As we move forward this year, GIS will embark on continued training, appropriate staff, public access to data, all working together toward the success of the GIS Department.
