Human Resources:

The Human Resources Department is responsible for recruitment and candidate selection, employee relations, compensation, employee record’s retention, and organizational development for Barrow County Government. The Human Resources staff primary responsibilities are as follows:

Manage day-to-day activities in areas of Recruitment and Selection, Employee Relations, Compensation, Position Classifications, Employee Records, Organizational Development, and Benefits Administration; Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers; Build business partner relationships with other county departments; Development and compliance of policies and procedures including the Barrow County Employee Handbook and Civil Service Handbook, federal and state employment and labor laws, and all other policies deemed appropriate and necessary by the County Manager and Board of Commissioners; Prepare and oversee special projects, performance analysis and other various management reports, and analysis of statistical data; Implement the Board of Commissioners' goals and objectives.

Barrow County's E-Verify Identification Number for the Employee Eligibility Verification Program is #76555

The E-Verify Employment Eligibility Verification Program (EEV) involves verification checks of the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) databases, using an automated system to verify the employment authorization of all newly hired employees, regardless of citizenship, after completion of the Employment Eligibility Verification Form (Form I-9). Barrow County has been complying with E-Verify since December 2007.

Pursuant to Title II ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, no otherwise qualified individual with a disability in the United States shall, solely by reason of her or his disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance or under any program or activity conducted by Barrow County, Georgia. Additionally, pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, no person shall on the grounds of race, color, or national origin be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity conducted by Barrow County, Georgia.

Drug-Free Workplace

Barrow County is committed to maintaining a work environment free from the adverse impact of employee drug and alcohol abuse. Employee drug and alcohol abuse create serious risks of physical harm to employees, persons who rely on Barrow County's services, and to the public. Barrow County will not tolerate an employee's possession, sale, distribution, consumption or presence in the body of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs while on County property or on County business at any time. Employees who test positive for drug use shall be terminated.
